Privacy Policy
Collection of statistical information
When you browse this web site, our server automatically collects statistical information such as:
- your top level domain name (for example, .au or .net)
- the type of browser and operating system you are using
- the date and time of your visit
- the last site you visited
- the pages you access on our site
- how long you spend looking at the site
- the names of any files you download, such as the ATC08 registration form.
We collect these statistics to improve our website and how we communicate. We cannot identify you from this information.
Many organisations’ websites send a small text file called a ‘cookie’ to your web browser to maintain contact with you as you browse from page to page. The ATC08 website does not use cookies.
Registering online for ATC08
This web site enables you to register online for ATC08. The registration process involves providing us with personal information such as your name and address and your credit card details. We need this information to register you for the convention and process your payment.
We collect your registration details through a secure system administered by Amlink. The system uses industry standard 128 bit Secure Socket Layer security technology to protect your privacy.
You can confirm that the registration pages are secure by checking the locked padlock symbol on your browser or by checking the address of the pages. Unencrypted pages (such as this one) start with http://. Secure pages (such as the registration pages) start with https://.
We recognise that some people are concerned about the security of online transactions. You can also register for ATC08 by printing out the registration form and mailing or faxing it to us. You can access the registration form and our contact details at http://www.ataevents.net.au/register/
Including your name in the delegate list
Our normal practice is to provide a list of conference delegates and their contact details to our sponsors. You can opt out of being included in the delegate list by ticking the privacy box in section F of either the printed and online registration forms. You can also opt out of being included in the list by sending an email to ata@atatruck.net.au
Subscribing to the Friday Facts
The registration form invites you to subscribe to the Friday Facts, the ATA’s weekly newsletter. We will only add you to the Friday Facts distribution list if you tick the relevant box in section F of the registration form or you ask to subscribe in some other way.
You can unsubscribe from the Friday Facts at any time by sending an email to ata@atatruck.net.au
Follow up communications
If you register for ATC08, we will send you follow up information by mail. We may also need to contact you by phone to confirm your details.
From time to time, we will also send you brochures about other ATA events that may interest you. You can tell us you do not want to receive these communications by sending an email to ata@atatruck.net.au.
Sending information to us by email or through the contact form
You should be aware that unencrypted email messages and web site contact forms are not secure. You should never send confidential personal information such as your credit card numbers by email or through a web site contact form.
Access to your personal information
Under the Privacy Act 1988, you are entitled to access any personal information we hold about you. You can also ask us to correct that information if it is not accurate, up-to-date and complete. You can exercise this entitlement by getting in touch with the contact officer listed below.
