ATA launches new TruckWeek website

Australia’s peak trucking industry body, the Australian Trucking Association, has today launched the official TruckWeek 2010 website.

The website is the best source of information for TruckWeek 2010, which is being held across Australia from 21 -27 February.

TruckWeek will bring together the ATA, its member organisations and companies to promote truck safety, the importance of the industry and its staff, and the great careers trucking now offers.

The Chairman of the ATA, Trevor Martyn, said the website provides a wealth of information about the trucking industry.

“The TruckWeek website has been designed to allow members of the public to find out more information about the trucking industry, as well as locate their nearest TruckWeek event,” Mr Martyn said.

“But more than that, the TruckWeek website also gives operators who would like to host an event a wide range of information on ways they can promote the industry to their local community.

“While the ATA will be working to promote the industry in Canberra, we need the support of the wider trucking community to make TruckWeek a success.

“We’ve already seen a number of organisations planning events and hope that many more will register their events on the TruckWeek website.

“I’m urging all operators to get online, register an event during the week and show their local community the importance of our industry.

“If operators are unsure on how to hold an event, the TruckWeek website also has some great ideas that can easily be implemented.

“Ideas like inviting a politician to take a drive in a truck, speaking to a local service club about the trucking industry or holding a driver health day are simple ways that every operator can get involved.

“Once they’ve decided what type of TruckWeek event they want to hold, trucking operators who are members of ATA member organisations can then list their event on the website, promoting their involvement in TruckWeek.”
