Five reasons why you shouldn’t wait to register for the 2009 TMC

With only 28 days left until the 2009 Technical and Maintenance Conference kicks off, the ATA Events team is urging delegates who have yet to register to do so immediately to avoid disappointment.

Here’s five reasons to not wait until the last minute day to book you place:

1.    Accommodation is running very thin

The 2009 Technical and Maintenance Conference is being held at the Silverwater Resort at San Remo, the gateway to Victoria’s Phillip Island. The new venue means the 2009 conference will be totally ‘live-in’, with all events conducted at the resort. As a result, those who have booked early have already secured the best rooms. The one bedroom resort room have already completely sold out. Don’t wait until the last minute to book, only to find out the you have to share accommodation, or even worse, the TMC is a complete sell out.

2.    Secure the best price on your plane fare

The 2009 TMC is already great value, but by booking your flight to Melbourne early you can save even more. Prices skyrocket close to the date of travel, so don’t wait until the last minute to book. For example, flights between Sydney and Melbourne are still available on Sunday 15 November and Tuesday 17 November for less than $80 return. But leave it too late and you will pay a lot more. Similar flights next week are already selling for over $100 each way. Booking now could save you hundreds.

3.    Limited spots left on the free courtesy bus

You’ve managed to get to Melbourne, but unless you book early, there is no guarantee you can get to Phillip Island. A free courtesy bus has been organised to take delegates from the airport and various spots across Melbourne to the venue, but places are filling fast. The ATA Events team is recommending delegates get in soon to avoid disappointment, or even worse, paying the $30 public transport cost each way.

4.    Ensure you get the full TMC experience

The TMC has a wide range of very popular events and the longer you leave it, the more chance you have of missing out on everything being a delegate entitles you to. Book now to make sure you secure a table for all dinners, a ticket to the Castrol Awards Dinner and the exclusive delegates’ polo shirt.

5.    Start organising meetings with suppliers and industry peers

By securing your spot at the 2009 TMC you can start organising meetings with other delegates. The 2009 TMC will feature many leading suppliers and workshop managers. By booking early, you can lock in key meetings with the people who matter. Don’t leave it too late or you might find yourself missing out on making those key contacts.
