The Department of Education, Employment, Education and Workplace Relations participated in the Technical & Maintenance Conference, sponsoring Australian Apprenticeships Day.
The purpose of the day was to raise awareness of apprenticeships and the various tools available to employers to ensure they have a program in place to maintain their skills set.
The Australian Government assists with the development of skills needed by Australian industry through its Australian Apprenticeships program. Initiatives include Tools for Your Trade; Commonwealth Trade Learning Scholarships; and enhanced access to Centrelink payments for eligible Australian Apprentices.
