Jan has been involved in the trucking industry for many years, both as a partner to an owner driver and as a long-term road safety advocate.

Along with her work in developing the TruckSafe program, Jan was the owner driver representative on the Road Transport Forum (now the ATA) from 1996-2001 and was involved in the introduction of the pilot fatigue management program in Queensland.

Since 2001, Jan has worked as the Membership Liaison Officer at the QTA and is trained as a road crash rescue first responder.
