National Trucking Industry Awards
DO YOU HAVE A NAME FOR TRUCKING BRAVERY?
The Australian Trucking Association and Continental Tyres Australia are seeking the industry’s help in naming a new award that will be presented from 2011.
The award will acknowledge acts of bravery by Australian truck drivers.
However, before the award is opened for nominations, it needs a name. That’s where the ATA and Continental are looking for assistance from the trucking community.
There is a great prize for the person who nominates the award’s new name. Continental has donated four new tyres for a private passenger vehicle or ute for the winning entry.
Submit your entries for the name of the new award to the ATA Awards Secretary, Steve Williamson, at williamsons@atatruck.net.au
The award will be a great opportunity for the industry to pay tribute to those who go above and beyond the call of duty in the job. The award will contribute to improving road safety awareness, as well as encouraging positive perceptions the trucking industry. Therefore, it needs a name that reflects its importance.
Throughout the year, the ATA will assess nominations before announcing a selection of finalists. The winner will be announced at the National Trucking Industry Awards at the Australian Trucking Convention each year.
To qualify for consideration, nominees must:
- be full-time professional employee drivers, or truck owner/operators, currently working as a local, medium or long distance driver in Australia.
- be doing their job at the time of the incident which is the subject of the nomination.
ABOUT THE NATIONAL AWARDS PROGRAM
The National Trucking Industry Awards are presented annually by the Australian Trucking Association to showcase high achievement in the industry and to promote exemplars to the community at large as a means to instill positive perceptions about trucking in Australia.
The majority of Awards are presented each year at a glittering dinner during the Australian Trucking Convention. The exception is the Craig Roseneder Award, which is presented during the annual Technical & Maintenance Conference in November.
There are fantastic prizes to be won, including international travel packages.
The National Trucking Industry Awards are sponsored by the ATA Foundation Sponsors BP, NTI and Volvo; Cummins South Pacific, DECA and Continental Tyres Australia.
